Try Priceline for low priced fares, but you may have to leave early
in the day:
TIPS: a.) Choose flexible dates if you can. b.) Choose several of your your closest airports for
departure then select OGG for destination (Kahului, Maui), or Reno-Tahoe for Lake tahoe area. Also, select "nearby airports" and "surrounding
dates" - within 3 days either side, or so). For example, flying with
1-stop in Honolulu on a date just before or after your first date
choice, could be $400 less.
2.) Fly to Honolulu first, the take an inter-island flight to Maui
(Go-air, Midway, Hawaiian, and often new carriers. For
more expensive, but direct flights, choose Kahului, or Kapalua Maui (OGG).
Other Hawaii airports worth considering: Hilo or Kona on the Big
